Politicians in Nashville are pushing a huge wave of anti-homeschooling bills, and they’re moving fast. Help us fight back!
SB 1938 / HB 1823 drags homeschool families into court.
If a child is labeled truant – and remember, every school district makes its own truancy rules – parents can be forced in front of a judge just to homeschool. A judge, not parents, gets the final say. That’s a direct violation of parental rights.
This push is coming straight from hostility toward homeschoolers.
Judicial officials have already called for more homeschool regulation, claiming homeschooling parents might hide abuse. Instead of targeting real criminals, these bills treat normal families like suspects. They’re treating everyday working families like suspects and using truancy laws as the excuse
HB 1729 / SB 2636 expands state power during “emergencies.”
The language is vague and gives the government room to step in with new rules and mandates during declared emergencies. We’ve already seen how “temporary” powers never stay temporary.
✉️ Send your email today and oppose this anti-homeschooling onslaught. Tell your State Rep and State Senator to vote ‘NO’ on these bills and back off homeschool families. If we don’t fight this now, we’ll be fighting a lot harder later.
Once you’ve sent your email, please consider donating to help HFC protect homeschoolers rights!
