President Trump promised to close the Department of Education and return control of education to the states – but Permanent Washington is trying to stop that.
RINOs in Congress are advancing ten bills – H.R. 9602 through H.R. 9611 – that would divide the Department of Education’s programs and control among the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Treasury, Interior, and State!
The Department of Education may disappear in name but its programs, personnel, funding, records, regulations, and federal influence would be more embedded in Washington than ever!
This division of powers will make government-mandated “education” policy much harder for parents to track and stop.
Instead of watching one department and one primary Congressional committee, homeschool families may be forced to monitor five federal agencies and multiple committees dealing with education, labor, health, child welfare, taxes, and foreign affairs.
One Department of Education was dangerous. Five places to hide its power is a nightmare.
The House Education and Workforce Committee has already advanced H.R. 9602 through H.R. 9611. These bills could now be brought before the full House, bundled together, or inserted into a larger legislative package – and we need to stop them!
