Whereas: Government officials and education bureaucrats are proposing mandatory registration databases that put homeschool families on lists and open the door to MORE monitoring and control; and
Whereas: Politicians are advancing expanded reporting requirements and frequent paperwork that undermine parental decision-making and add bureaucratic burdens; and
Whereas: Standardized testing and portfolio mandates are being floated as “accountability,” threatening educational flexibility and family-led learning; and
Whereas: Curriculum approval schemes are being discussed that substitute government preferences for parental choice; and
Whereas: Increased compliance enforcement – including audits, investigations, and penalties – would punish families who choose to homeschool; and
Whereas: “Temporary oversight” measures often become permanent layers of control once normalized;
Therefore: As your constituent, I insist that you oppose any new homeschooling regulations in 2026 and safeguard the rights of parents to educate their children without government interference.
