We have already seen what this looks like. In 2024, SB 1031 was introduced to regulate homeschooling, strip the religious exemption that has existed since 1976, and expand state oversight of families who are already educating their children successfully.
This session, the threat is even greater. The House may be emboldened, but the Senate remains narrowly divided by a margin of 21-19. That makes early, loud pressure from homeschoolers into the Senate absolutely critical. If we raise our voices now, we can stop these bad bills in the Senate.
