You’ve heard the news out of Minneapolis about the Catholic school that was attacked on Wednesday, leaving two children deceased and many more injured.
A community shattered. Hearts broken.
If you’re like me, you hugged your kids a little tighter this week. Parents everywhere feel devastation when something like this happens.
We know now that the person who allegedly committed this heinous crime was a man who believed himself to be a woman. A transgendered man, Westman was in his early 20’s and had planned out his attack far in advance, even documenting it on Youtube. It is clear he had mental problems.
The worst part is that those problems are pushed, promoted, even encouraged. You can see below the Minnesota Lt .Governor Peggy Flanagan publicly encouraging this madness.
These are the same kinds of people, people like Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who would restrict homeschooling to it’s very core. If they had their way, there would be NO way to homeschool your kids, period.
Just this year, in April, an amendment was added to to Minnesota Senate File 1740 that would have altered the state’s homeschooling law and imposed restrictions on who could homeschool. Thankfully, that bill didn’t make it into law.
But do you see how it works? The state whose leadership celebrates kids with serious mental health problems is the same state that is working to regulate homeschooling.
They think we’re the dangerous ones.
And this is happening in blue states all over the country.
They won’t stop until we have to beg the state for permission to homeschool, until we’re made to submit our lesson plans and have our curriculum approved by them. They want our kids are taking mandatory vaccinations, and to have a Government official come to your home to ‘lay eyes on the kids’ every year etc.
And after that? They want it outlawed. Period.
Yes, the people who are pushing this mental illness in the name of ‘tolerance’, the ones making children unsafe in a Catholic school, are the very ones trying to make it more difficult for you and me to homeschool.
We can only guess at what would have happened at the Federal level, should Tim Walz have gotten into the White House last fall.
What we do know is that a whole community in Minnesota is grieving and we grieve with them.
And we are re-invigorated to protect children and the right to educate our children at home, under our watchful care.
Please take a moment to sign the petition below, telling your lawmakers to STOP any new restrictions on homeschoolers and vote ‘NO’ on any bills that would make it harder for parents to bring their children home!
Protect Homeschooling Rights! Sign Your Petition!
And please join me in praying for the families affected by this unimaginable crime.
