As fireworks light up the sky and families gather across the country, we’re pausing to thank God for the gift of freedom — not just the kind written into our founding documents, but the kind we live out every day as homeschooling families.
In a world that’s trying harder than ever to control how we raise our kids, we still have the freedom to teach our children truth, to honor God without apology, and to build homes that reflect our personal convictions and values — not the culture’s confusion. And that’s worth celebrating. 🙌
This Independence Day, we’re not just celebrating 1776, we’re celebrating every modern-day parent who said “no thanks” to the system and chose to do something society says is radical: raise and educate their own children.
We celebrate the families who saw a system crushing the soul of our young people and took a stand against it.
So while most of us are going to be handing out watermelon, trying to get a decent picture of the kids before they run off and ruin their clothes for the day, and visiting with friends and family…well, doing that with our family is our way of carrying on the American idea of liberty.
My family will be gathering here in blazing-hot Texas sun, shooting off some fireworks, and grilling some Texas steaks.
So from all of us here at HFC: Happy 4th of July! 🎆 Thank you for standing with us, praying with us, and fighting to keep home education free and parent-directed.
Let’s keep raising up strong families, bold voices, and kids who know what it means to be truly free.
In freedom and faith,
