They never announce it as a crackdown on homeschooling.
They call it “oversight,” “modernization,” or “accountability.” But homeschool families know how this works — the outlawing of homeschooling doesn’t arrive all at once. It arrives quietly, step by step, until freedom is replaced with compliance.
With the 2026 session kicking off in states all across the country, lawmakers and bureaucrats are already working on new ways to tighten control over homeschooling.
1) Mandatory registration to make sure they have us all on a list. Or mandatory ‘wellness checks’ which accomplish the same thing — but with added questions about your family’s life and medical choices.
2) Expanded reporting. How many kids are in the house, how many hours a day do you do Math with your kids? Is your child ‘behind’ in any subject? When was the last time they had a Pediatrician’s appointment? Does anybody in the house own any weapons?
3) Testing and curriculum reviews — aka someone from the Government looking over YOUR lesson plan and deciding whether or not your child should read *that* particular history book.
And of course, increased enforcement of all the laws already on the books, disguised as “help” for parents. None of this protects families — it controls them.
Homeschool freedom doesn’t disappear overnight.
It erodes when good parents are told, “This won’t affect you,” or “It’s just common sense.” Or the favorite phrase of tyrants everywhere, “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.”
👉🏽👉🏽That’s how temporary rules become permanent systems that our children’s children will have to grow up under. And for every red state that lets that happen, a dozen more states will follow suit. 👈🏽👈🏽
That’s why we’ve launched a new petition demanding legislators oppose ALL new regulations on homeschooling in 2026 — no carve-outs, no compromises, no exceptions.
Parents — not some corrupt, gender-denying government official — are best equipped to direct their children’s education.
We’ve already seen the “village” that the Government schools are cranking out and we want nothing to do with it! And we refuse to let those same people regulate our homeschool.
