Ding Dong! The Bill Is DEAD!
If you haven’t heard yet, the nasty anti-homeschooling bill in Virginia (S.B. 1031) has been sent to die in Committee for this legislative session.
Thanks to the hard work of thousands of homeschoolers who poured unrelenting calls, emails, texts and even visited the capitol in Richmond, Senate Bill 1031 has been effectively killed for this legislative session!
On January 30, the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee moved and voted 13-2 to “PBI” (Pass by Indefinitely) S.B. 1031, ending the bill’s chances at destroying homeschooling in Virginia.
Make No Mistake: your phone calls, emails, posts, shares, donations and prayers are the reason this bill didn’t get further along, or even pass the legislature.
We couldn’t have achieved this victory without your direct, active involvement in the fight to protect your family’s homeschooling rights, Emily!
This kind of pressure is the only thing that legislators respect. They don’t care about principles: they care about how many Republicans will face angry voters in the primaries over this issue.
Hopefully the legislature — and especially radical legislators like Stella Pekarsky — have learned a lesson in all of this: that homeschoolers are a powerful political fighting force and won’t easily be tread upon here in Virginia!
But if they haven’t, we’ll be here to guard the door every step of the way.
Thank you again for standing up, for standing with us and for making your voices heard loud and clear in Richmond. Keep an eye out for other email alerts from us in the coming days with more information on bills popping up across the Country.
For Freedom,
