URGENT: Vote Coming Tomorrow! Act Now to Stop SB-2!

We urgently need your help to protect homeschooling freedom in Texas!

On Tuesday, April 1st, at 8 a.m., the Texas House of Representatives Public Education Committee will convene to discuss SB 2, the Senate’s education savings account bill.

This is a serious matter that demands our immediate attention.

Texas has long been a flagship for homeschool freedom in the United States, setting a powerful example for families who value the right to educate their children independently, free from excessive government oversight. This state has cultivated an environment where parents can tailor their children’s education to their unique needs, beliefs, and aspirations – a liberty that has made Texas a beacon for homeschooling advocates nationwide.

The absence of burdensome regulations, like attendance record keeping and state tests, and the strong legal protections enshrined in Texas law have allowed Texas homeschoolers to thrive, fostering innovation, quality, and excellence in education.

However, this cherished freedom is now under threat with SB 2, which risks undermining the very principles that have made Texas a leader in this arena.

By introducing education savings accounts and expanding government involvement under the guise of “school choice,” SB 2 could pave the way for increased regulation and control, eroding the autonomy that homeschooling families have fought so hard to preserve.

Texas’ status as a trailblazer for homeschool liberty could be shot down if this bill passes, setting a dangerous precedent not just here, but across the country.

We cannot let this flagship fall – our independence and the future of homeschooling depend on stopping SB 2 in its tracks.

>>🚨Tell Your State Rep to Vote NO! 🚨<<

SB 2, a companion to HB 3 which was previously considered and left pending, represents a rapid push for “school choice” legislation. If the committee approves any version of this bill, it could quickly proceed to the House floor.

As a Senate bill that has already passed the Senate, it won’t need to go through the committee process again – the Senate can simply vote to agree with the House’s version.

We must act swiftly to make our voices heard! Please email your House member as soon as possible and urge them to vote “NO” on SB 2! We have made it easy – see the button below to quickly send a prewritten email.

To be clear, the Homeschool Freedom Coalition is not opposed to all school choice.

We are all for returning the tax dollars of hardworking families to them so they can homeschool their families more effectively.

We are strong advocates for withdrawing children from the public school system and all for homeschoolers getting back money that is rightfully theirs.

However, this bill is NOT the solution that homeschoolers asked for or needed.

If you agree, send your email and donate to this fight now!
