As 2025 comes to a close, many families are reflecting on the year behind us and looking ahead to what 2026 will bring.
And when it comes to homeschooling in America, the truth is this:
The opportunities ahead are enormous — but so are the threats!
Over the last five years, homeschooling has exploded across the country.
Millions of families have chosen to step away from government-run education and take responsibility for their children’s learning, values, and future.
That growth has been amazing to witness and to help create!
But it has also made homeschool families a target.
Across the country, radical ideologues who believe the government owns our children are moving aggressively to regulate, track, and control homeschoolers. And it’s not just happening in deep-blue states!
Even in so-called “red” states, greedy politicians and bureaucrats see homeschoolers as a financial problem — because every child educated at home is a child not generating money for government schools.
That is why we are seeing:
- Bills to regulate and register homeschool families
- Efforts to eliminate religious exemptions
- Proposals to force curriculum reporting and government oversight
- Coordinated attacks driven by unions like the NEA and their political allies
The message from the establishment is clear:
They want control back.
And they are not waiting.
That is why the Homeschool Freedom Coalition exists.
HFC is leading the charge nationally to defend homeschool freedom and push back against efforts to drag families back under government control.
Our team is actively engaged in states across the country — stopping bad bills, exposing coordinated union agendas, and working to expand real homeschool freedom where opportunities exist!
This is not a fight we can afford to take lightly.
The right to keep government OUT of our children’s education is not something that preserves itself. It is a right that must be continually defended, protected, and fought for.
