If Congress gets away with this, the Department of Education will never die…
You see, President Trump promised to shut down the corrupt Department of Education and return control of education to the states.
We strongly believe that control of education belongs to the FAMILY, but getting rid of federal control is a good start!
But now, Republican members of Congress are pushing a series of bills that would do something very different.
Instead of abolishing the Department of Education, H.R. 9602 through H.R. 9611 would simply scatter its programs, employees, regulations, funding, and authority across multiple federal agencies.
So, the Department of Education may disappear in name, but its power would remain alive and well throughout Washington — it would just be way harder to track.
That isn’t ending federal control over education — it’s hiding it!
Rather than dealing with one federal agency, homeschool families could suddenly find themselves trying to monitor the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Treasury, Interior, and State — all with pieces of the control and authority once held by the Department of Education.
That means more bureaucracy, more control and more confusion.
And far more opportunities for Washington bureaucrats to force their ideology, masked as “education” on to the lives of homeschool families.

The House Education and Workforce Committee has already advanced these bills, meaning they could be brought before the full House, bundled together, or inserted into a larger legislative package at any time.
