Happy Independence Day — Celebrating 250 Years of American Freedom!

Happy Independence Day from the whole team at Homeschool Freedom Coalition!

Today marks 250 years since America declared her independence.

For most of us, the Fourth of July means family gatherings, backyard cookouts, fireworks, and taking a moment to appreciate the blessings God has poured out on this nation.

But it’s also a reminder that freedom always comes with a price.

Long before the Declaration of Independence was signed, faithful Christian families boarded ships and crossed an ocean in search of something the Old World could no longer give them.

They wanted to worship the God of the Bible without interference from kings and governments. They wanted to build homes, churches, and communities where their children could be raised according to their convictions.

They didn’t cross an ocean looking for an easier life.

They crossed it looking for a freer one.

That same desire has been passed from one generation of Americans to the next.

It’s why parents still believe we — not government officials — have both the right and the responsibility to raise and educate our own children.

It’s why homeschooling continues to grow all across America.

And it’s exactly why the Homeschool Freedom Coalition exists.

Happy Independence Day: celebrating 250 years of American freedom

Every day, we’re working to make sure that no legislature, no agency, and no unelected bureaucrat can take away a parent’s God-given authority to direct the education of their own children.

As lifelong homeschoolers, we believe families make those decisions — not politicians.

We believe parents know their children better than government experts ever will.

And we believe that every generation has a duty to defend the freedoms it inherited instead of assuming someone else will do it.

So today, as our nation celebrates 250 years of American independence, I hope you’ll enjoy the day with the people you love most.

Celebrate.

Give thanks to God for the freedoms we’ve been given!

Remember those who sacrificed to secure them.

Then tomorrow, we get back to work.

Because the fight to preserve the freedom to homeschool, to raise our children according to our faith and convictions, and to keep government in its proper place is far from over.

Thank you for standing with the Homeschool Freedom Coalition. Your support is helping ensure that the freedoms we enjoy today remain an inheritance our children and grandchildren can enjoy tomorrow.
